Hello hello hello. Three big helloes.
Unbelievably, it has been two months since Lazzy's smashed it’s 20k target, so it feels like a good time to let you all in on what I’ve been up to.
Starting a business is a whirlwind rollercoaster mile-a-minute madness. It’s the biggest challenge I’ve ever undertaken. And I’m here for it.
So, holding onto what I hold dear, a life with heart and health, here’s the lowdown:
Where we’ve been
The money from Kickstarter has so far allowed me to consult a bunch of experts. I’ve been using them like specialist gym trainers. I take on board their instruction and then I work my ass off doing the hard yards. It’s sweaty work. My method is very Lazzy's. Sprint. Snack. Sprint. Snack. Back to sprinting.
Where we are now
Our first production round is scheduled for mid-March. Pretty much a month from now. And that is really exciting to type. The bars make it real. The bars that were once a daydream are now a checkpoint. In this marathon of effort, I’m going to let out a cheer when we hit that milestone. And they’ll be available to taste. So, you can finally taste what I’ve been sweating and smiling all these months.
Where we’re going
The bars will be available for Lazzy's online at first. Like a comedian performing to their friends before a big tour, I’ll need you to be both kind and critical. You’ll need to tell me the delicious bits and the bits you think I can work on. If the start-up life has taught me anything, it’s how to learn how to adapt and adjust and keep going.
We’ll start with small scale batches. Tweaking. Adjusting. And going again.
Through it all, this past year, I’ve been finding out that a business journey is also an emotional journey. And it’s the Lazzy's way to be open and honest about that. It’s been a huge couple of months for the business and for me. Only one of us turned thirty! As I hurtle along in this journey, I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the continued support.
